The head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Erbil, the Kurdistan Region's capital said in a near future the Region's businessmen and investors can obtain the UAE visa through the chamber's office.

Dara Jalil Khayyat told AKnews his office has been engaged in talks with the UAE's consul to Iraq to provide the service; however, without naming even an approximate date for launching the service. Some 18 foreign counties, including only one Arab country, Egypt, have consulate offices in the Kurdistan.

The Region is a booming economy with thousands of foreign companies and firms functioning in it. The trade delegations frequent visits into and outside the Kurdistan Region has reinforced the trade volume and joint ventures in the Region.
