Philippines to enter Kurdistan investment market

A delegation of government officials and businessmen from Philippines will soon visit Iraqi Kurdistan region to consider investment opportunities.

Yesterday a delegation of Philippines government officials accompanied by representatives of chambers of commerce met with the Union of Kurdistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry in Erbil to express the readiness of the businessmen of their country for investing in Kurdistan, said the Union Head Dara Jalil Khayyat,.

Khayyat said the delegation was told that perhaps the businessmen from Philippines can best help Kurdistan by providing professional workers in various fields and by installing factories for producing foodstuff; "the two fields of investment which Philippines is best known for."

The delegation said it will deliver the message to their businessmen, adding the governemnt officials and businessmen will visit Kurdistan soon to verify the investment prospects themselves.
