Erbils literary festival enhances and supports the Iraqi heritage

The British Council in Iraq confirmed on Wednesday, that Erbils’ Second literary international festival has contributed in strengthening the Iraqi heritage literature in support of its return to its position in the creative forums.

 

Beshwa Hall at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth of Kurdistan Regional Government concluded on Tuesday evening, Erbils’ Second literary international festival by establishing a poetry evening for a group of Iraqi and British poets, as well as instrumentals music for the National Symphony Youth band of Iraq and folkloric Kurdish shows .

 

British Council in partnership with the Ministry of Culture and Youth in Kurdistan Region and Salahuddin University in Erbil and Writers union in Iraq (in both Baghdad and Kurdistan Region), as well as Firefly World Foundation in the United Kingdom, held a festival which lasted for three days from 27 up to 29 of the current month.

 

The director of the British Council in Iraq, Jim Sccart said in an interview with "Shafaq News” that "based on the success that has been achieved in the past year, the festival this year came also to add diverse and interesting position to make an event that includes popular, social and cultural events."
