The head of the Kurdistan Region’s Tennis Federation said Kurdistan Tennis championships for advanced level will begin tomorrow in Erbil, the Region’s capital.

The three-day matches will take place in Harvin Sports Center. The 14 participants from the three provinces of the Region, Sulaimaniya, Erbil and Dohuk, as well as the multiethnic province of Kirkuk are aged above 35.

Wirya Abdul-Qadir who is an intentional tennis player from Kurdistan said the championships are to determine the makeup of the Kurdistan tennis team to participate in a friendly round of matches in the Islamic Republic of Iran due in a near future.
