Trade exchange with Iran through Haji Omran increased by 20% in 2010

The head of customs compound at Haji Omaran border point has announced that compared with 2009, the Iranian trade exchange with the Kurdistan Region through the passage Increased by 20%.

Since the beginning of 2010 approximately 150 to 200 trucks crossed the point into the Region everyday, with various loads to the Region.

The official declined to provide the average for the incoming loads in 2009. But according to the figures he gave, the number of trucks passing the point in 2009 would have fluctuated between 100 to 150 daily. Haji Omran is located 175 km north east of Erbil, the Kurdistan Regional capital. The point was internationally recognized in April 2008.
