The KRG has announced that 1.924 new foreign and local companies have registered in Kurdistan in 2010. According to the KRG, Kurdistan currently has 11,469 officially registered companies.

These companies are working on projects worth millions of dollars in the cities Erbil, Sulaymaniyah and Dohuk, in various sectors such as industrial, commercial, agriculture and tourism.

Security, stability and geographical location of the region of Kurdistan along with the policies pursued by the provincial government and the facilities offered to investors through the investment law, are the reason behind the increasing number of investing companies in Erbil and Kurdistan.
