In the presence of Nawzad Hadi, the governor of Erbil City, and other officials, Sofy Mall opened its doors to the public. The governor stated that the opening of these malls are important to the development of the trade and economy sector of the city Erbil, and attract foreign investors to Erbil and the Kurdistan Region.

Govand Sofy, member of the Sofy Group of Companies, stated that Sofy Mall was built on an area of more than 5.000 m², with 1.000 m² allocated for children and toys. The final cost of the project was 9 million Dollar.
