Qatar Airways launches flights to Erbil and Baghdad

Saturday, 10 March 2012

Qatar Airways is set to add Erbil and Baghdad to its list of international destinations served directly from its Doha-based hub.

Erbil and Baghdad will be introduced to the carrier’s Middle East network in May and June respectively.

Both cities will be served four times a week using the carrier's Airbus A320.

Qatar Airways chief executive officer Akbar Al Baker unveiled the expansion programme at ITB Berlin, a travel show hosted in the German capital last week.

“Today’s announcement reflects the importance Qatar Airways places on expanding its portfolio of passenger and cargo destinations, and offer more frequency on existing routes to provide more choice, more flexibility and more options,” said Baker.

Tanzania, Serbia and Myanmar also feature in the passenger route expansion programme, which begins in May.
