Monday, 27 December 2010

The Second Congress of the Kurdistan Regions Artists Organization kicked off Saturday in Peshawa (Leader) Conventions Center in Erbil, the Regional Capital.

200 artists from across the Region participated in the three-day during congress where a new high and secondary board for the Organization will be elected. The artists will also deliberate about the current issues of their fields.

Muwaffaq Arif Lihoni, the organizer of the event has mentioned that all the members have “transparently” been elected to the congress. He hoped to observe the same “integrity” for the election of the artists’ representatives.

Farydun Dartsh, the current chairman of the organization’s high board has announced not to nominate himself for the position.

The first congress of the organization took place in 2006 after the integration of the Kurdistan Artists Union and Syndicate.
