Kurdistan hosts its first international theater festival in Erbil

ERBIL - Aknews has announced that the Kurdistan Region will host the first international theater festival in the capital city Erbil, Peshawa Hall Today. Fourteen theater bands from 9 different countries around the world, in addition to the local Kurdish and Iraqi teams, will present 12 performances during the festival.

The countries that participate in the first Internation theater festival in Kurdistan include: Japan, Netherlands, Switzerland, France, Germany, Sweden, Greece, Iran and Turkey. They will meet their counterparts from the Kurdish and Iraqi teams during the event, which will last for seven days.

The jury consists of German, French, Italian and Iraqi advisors. They will determine the winners of the festival. Also, some Kurdish books will be published during the festival by the Ministry of Culture and Youth.

Today two plays will be presented, the first (the story goes), written and directed by Ahmad Salar, will be at 17:30 hours represents the people's hall, and the second (the insanity of war), and produced directed by the Italian Roporto Kopona Will be presented at 20.00 in the Hall of the management of the art or theater.
