The Kurdish Young man Nariman Saleh (30 years ) is passionate about airplanes from a Young age. At the age of twenty he made a small plane with one engine which could be controld by mean of a wireless device. He admired his friends but did not stop and continued until he was able build his own private plane and fly with it successfully.

Nariman syas that he was obsessed by the desire to fly a plane since he was a child. He could make a plane of anything got to his hands, which was the reason that his friends called him “Narima the Pilot”. As he became older, he was more determined than ever to build his dream the plane. Nariman explans that his start in the aircraft industry began in 1997 when he made a wooden model as big as an actual airplane he saw in a movie. He then continued his attempts until 2007, in that year he contacted an aircraft manufacturer in the U.S. through the Internet. After paying four thousand american dollars to the manufacturer, he got the chart of an airplane called STOL 701, a light two place aircraft.

NAZ 82

After recieving the outlines from the manufacturer begin 2009, he was able to build his plane. He worked day and night and decided to call the plane “NAZ 82”, named after the girl he loved. The aircraft is made of 20 layers of aluminum, which is also used in commercial aircrafts. The aluminum was imported by hem self and at his own expense.

Learn to fly
After completing the body of the plane, Nariman needed to learn how to fly the plane, build the engine and the other parts of it. Because of the astronomical prices of flight school in the area, he decided to travel to China. There he was able to make 80 flight hours in three months. Then he went to Turkey in order to learn to fly in a similar environment of the Kurdistan Region. After his return from Turkey, he had 100 flight hours and could breng back the Tires of the plane which he bought for 500 U.S. Dollars. The only problem was funding an appropriate engine. After the spread of the news in the local media Nariman received in the summer of 2009 a call from a kurdish businessman living in Europe telling hem his readiness to finance the project.
Nariman says: “I woke up to see my mobile Phone ringing, the number was anonymous. The caller told me that he would finance the engine cost. I scream as hard as i could: Finally i will FLY”.

A New Kurdish Aircraft Manufacture

It seems that the idea of Nariman which has been successful, admired the governor of Arbil, Engineer Nawzad Hadi, who visited Nariman during the industrialization in his workshop, and gave him assistance to accomplish the project. Governor of Erbil, says : "the Government of Erbil have enough confidence in Nariman, to provide hem material and moral support he needs."

The governor of Erbil says, that whenever they saw the insistence of Nariman to get that plane off the ground, there confidence in turn was increasing to support him. Adding that the local government is seeking to encourage him to make more of those aircrafts that can be used to patrol the border or spraying the Agricultural pesticides or even to use in the tourism industry, through the use of guided tours.

Nariman is not the only one
With the available security in the Kurdistan region, there have been more talents discoverd. Last year a mechanic was able to rebuild a new car based on a model from the beginning of the last century. He then toured with the car the city of Erbil, after receiving a registration plate from the government of Kurdistan free of charge. And before that a man succeeded in making a jeep called “Hewler” the kurdish name of Erbil.
Nariman is the most known talent, he did not complete his high school, and managed to learn English in order to write to companies for the manufacture of his plane. The ministry of Youth has selected him as the best Young talent for two years.
